Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the names people type into MUGEN first: small sprites, big casts, and a Classic-versus-Modern split that maps cleanly onto two folders in select.def.
This Sonic MUGEN characters hub is what you can download from MugenDB today: 11 fighters plus Pots' Sky Chase bonus game. Classic and Modern are XPGlitz236's 2026 sets. Downloads sit on each listing, not on this page.

Are these official Sega characters?
No. Fan conversions. Downloads go to the authors.
Classic or Modern first?
Classic if you want Genesis size. Modern if you want Adventure-era sprites. They are two sets.
Which MUGEN version?
M.U.G.E.N 1.0+ for the 2026 set. JUS Sonic is a chibi char; it still runs in 1.0.
Where is a full Sonic MUGEN game?
Sky Chase is a bonus game, not a full Sonic fighter. No full Sonic game is on this hub yet.
